Rent or buy

Thinking of buying one instead?

Buying is a perfectly good option if you're staying for years — you'd own the bike at the end of it. Here's what it actually takes, so you can weigh it up properly. We process bike registrations for foreigners every week, so these aren't guesses. See the registration process.

Buying a new Honda PCX 160 compared with renting one long-term
Buying one Renting long-term
Cash on day one Around ฿110,000 for one bike, cash, plus registration and government fees ฿27,997 — first 3 months plus the refundable deposit
Finance Rarely an option for a foreigner — Thai hire-purchase generally wants a work permit and a Thai guarantor Not needed
Registration Yours to do: residence certificate from immigration or your embassy, passport, visa, proof of address, forms at the Department of Land Transport None. The bike stays registered to us. Here's what you're skipping.
Green book (เล่มทะเบียน) Your responsibility Ours
Road tax & compulsory พ.ร.บ. You renew it every year, in Thai Included — we renew it
Servicing You book it, pay for it, and explain the fault in Thai We book it and we pay for it. You just get the bike there.
If it needs work Down to you Ours to sort, and you ride something else meanwhile
Resale value Yours to keep — and yours to chase Not something you have to think about
When you leave Thailand Sell it first — as a foreigner, to a Thai buyer, with a transfer at the DLT Hand back the keys
Insurance You arrange it Compulsory พ.ร.บ. included, same as every rental we do. Damage cover to your own bike available at ฿500/month.
Why brand new

There's a reason people pay a little more for 0 km.

0 km. You are the first rider.

Unwrapped, run in by you, and never sat on by anyone else. There is a particular kind of confidence that comes with that.

Full 3-year Honda warranty

Three years or 30,000 km. We hold the warranty and we deal with the dealer — you never make a claim yourself.

Honda Smart Key and alarm

Keyless ignition, anti-theft alarm and answer-back — standard on the model we buy, not an upgrade you pay for.

30 litres under the seat

One of the biggest in its class. A full-face helmet fits with room left over, plus USB-C charging on the bars.

Servicing scheduled and paid for

We book every service and we pay for it. You just get the bike there — to us, or straight to the Honda shop we arrange.

A bike to ride while yours is in

Service days come out of our daily rental fleet, so you keep riding. No gap, and nothing extra to pay.

We rent plenty of used bikes. This one is different on purpose.

Our used fleet is well looked after and we're happy to put anyone on one — most of our riders are, and a used long-term tier is coming. But a brand new bike is a different proposition: a full Honda warranty, zero history, and a machine that has been run in by you and nobody else. For a few hundred baht a month, some people would simply rather be the first. If that's you, this is the one.

Who it's for

What you'll need to qualify.

A brand new bike for months at a time isn't a walk-up rental, so there's a short list. Better you know it now than after a trip to the shop.

  • ✓A long-stay visa — not a tourist entry or a visa exemption stamp
  • ✓Proof of income or savings (a work permit, pay slips, or a bank statement)
  • ✓A licence you can legally ride on here — see below
  • ✓A Bangkok address we can verify

Which licence counts?

Any one of these three, and you're legal to ride here.

✓A Thai motorcycle licence

Always valid, never expires mid-contract, and the simplest option if you are staying a while. We run a service that gets you one.

✓An ASEAN country licence

Nationals of ASEAN member states ride on their home domestic licence alone — no International Driving Permit needed.

✓Your home licence + an IDP

Everyone else needs an International Driving Permit endorsed for motorcycles, carried together with the original home licence. It has to be issued in your own country before you travel.

ASEAN nationals — Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam — ride on their home licence with no IDP needed. An IDP is valid for one year from issue (three under the 1968 Vienna Convention). If yours runs out during your contract you must renew it or get a Thai licence — riding on an expired permit voids your cover and your insurance. Need a Thai one? We sort those.

Renting for a shorter stay, or here on a tourist visa? Our daily and weekly rentals have none of these requirements.

How it works

Four steps, one shop visit.

  1. 1

    Send us an enquiry

Pick the term that suits you and tell us when you'd want the bike. We'll come straight back with the next available date.

  2. 2

    Come to the shop

Long-term is a proper contract, so this part happens in person. Bring your passport, visa and licence — we'll go through everything with you and answer whatever you want to ask.

  3. 3

Sign and pay the first block

First 3 months plus your deposit, by PromptPay, transfer or cash. After that you're billed every 3 months in advance — no surprises in between.

  4. 4

    Ride away

The bike is yours to use. Once everything's signed we can arrange delivery instead if you'd rather — just ask us for a price.

No surprises

Exactly what you get, and what you don't.

This market has a reputation, and it's earned. So here is the whole thing in plain English, before you ask.

Included in your monthly price

  • ✓Annual road tax and compulsory พ.ร.บ. insurance
  • ✓Every scheduled service — booked by us, paid for by us
  • ✓Maintenance and wear parts: brakes, tyres, belts, fluids
  • ✓A bike from our daily rental fleet to ride while yours is being serviced
  • ✓Roadside support, any day of the year

Not included — down to you

  • ✕Fuel — the bike comes with a full tank and comes back with one
  • ✕Helmets. Long-term riders normally want their own — see the rider pack below
  • ✕Getting the bike to its service: drop it to us, or take it straight to the Honda shop we arrange
  • ✕Damage from an accident. As with every rental, the rider is responsible regardless of fault
  • ✕Traffic fines, and a ฿500/day loss-of-use fee if the bike is impounded
  • ✕Loss or theft of the bike
  • ✕Distance over your 1,500 km a month, at ฿2 per km
  • ✕Grab, food delivery or any commercial use — not permitted on the new bikes

Why it's ฿10,000

Because it's a brand new ฿110,000 motorcycle. The deposit is the excess, not the price of the bike — and it is yours, held and returned, never spent. Prefer to keep hold of your cash? The ฿500-a-month damage waiver brings it down to ฿3,000.

When you get it back

Returned in full, by the same method you paid it. Processed the same day you hand the bike back.

Cash is same-day, in your hand. Bank transfers go out the same day too — how quickly they land is down to your bank.

What we can take off it

  • — Accident damage, charged against the damage schedule in your contract
  • — Traffic fines that arrive in our name and are still unpaid
  • — Distance over your allowance, at ฿2 per km

That list is the whole list. Nothing else comes off your deposit, and every deduction is itemised and photographed so you can see exactly what it's for.

Damage cover — ฿500/month

6 and 12-month contracts

If it bolts on, we cover it. If it's bent metal, engine damage, or the bike is gone, it's yours.

Drop it, slide it, scuff it — the plastics, mirror, levers and lights are on us. Take the cover and your deposit drops to ฿3,000 too.

What the damage cover includes, by category
# Category What's in it With cover
1 Scuffs and scrapes Cosmetic marks on the panels, a scratched mirror, a scuffed bar end, a kerbed footpeg. Covered
2 Bolt-on parts Panels, mirror, brake or clutch lever, handlebar end, front mudguard, footpeg, indicator, seat. Covered
3 A full drop or slide Several panels at once, bar end, mudguard, light unit — where the bike is still straight underneath. Covered
4 Structural — behind the panels Bent forks, bent frame, cracked engine or CVT casing, buckled wheel, suspension — anything damaged through the plastics. You pay
5 Write-off or stolen Not economically repairable, or the bike is gone. You pay

Covered categories are paid up to ฿20,000 of parts and labour across your contract — we pay the first ฿20,000, and anything beyond that is yours. On the standard ฿10,000 deposit there is no cover and every category is charged to you. The cover fee itself isn't refundable.

Yours either way
  • •Tyres, wheels and punctures
  • •Fuel
  • •Traffic fines, and ฿500/day if the bike is impounded
  • •Distance over your allowance
  • •A lost smart key (฿4,000)

What things actually cost

Every price below is all-in — part and labour, nothing added afterwards. These are agreed when you sign, so nobody is inventing a number while your deposit sits in our till. Anything not on the list is quoted at cost and agreed with you before any work starts.

Side panel — scratched through and replaced ฿2,500
Mirror ฿800
Brake or clutch lever ฿1,200
Handlebar end ฿1,000
Front mudguard ฿2,500
Indicator ฿2,200
Seat ฿3,000
A typical drop — two panels scuffed through, mirror, lever, bar end, mudguard and an indicator — comes to about ฿12,700. Six months of damage cover is ฿3,000. That is the whole argument for it, and we would rather show you the maths than pitch it at you.

Damage to other people and their vehicles

The compulsory พ.ร.บ. insurance included with every rental covers injury to people. It does not cover damage to anyone else's vehicle or property. If you hit another vehicle, the repair bill and any dispute that follows are yours — this is the same on every rental in Thailand, and you'll be asked to sign that you understand it. If that worries you, arrange your own third-party cover before you ride; we can point you at a broker.

When it ends

You're not stuck with it.

Every contract can be handed back, renewed, or swapped onto a newer bike. On the 12-month contract only, you can also ask to buy it. We agree a price towards the end of the term, against the bike's actual condition and mileage — rather than fixing a number a year in advance that turns out to suit one of us and not the other. On 3 and 6 months the bike isn't for sale, but renewing or swapping is always open.

And if you do buy it, we'll put it in your name for you — that's a service we already run.

Leaving early

Plans change. Here's the real cost.

You can end a 6 or 12-month contract early, and there's no notice period to sit through. We'd rather you knew the number now than found it out later.

  • →The charge is 2 months' rental, in place of giving notice — so you can go when you need to.
  • →The 3-month block you've already paid isn't refunded, so timing matters — leaving just after a block is billed is the expensive moment.
  • →Plus anything owed for damage under the contract.
  • →Your deposit still comes back in full, the same day.

On the 3-month contract none of this applies. You've paid the whole term up front, so if your plans change you simply bring the bike back — nothing further to pay.

FAQ

The things people actually ask.

Do I need a Thai driving licence?
Not necessarily — there are three ways to be legal here. A Thai motorcycle licence always works. If you are a national of an ASEAN member state (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam), your home country licence alone is enough and you do not need an International Driving Permit. Everyone else needs an IDP endorsed for motorcycles, carried together with the original home licence, and it must be issued in your own country before you travel. An IDP is valid for one year from issue (three under the 1968 Vienna Convention). If yours runs out during your contract you must renew it or get a Thai licence — riding on an expired permit voids your cover and your insurance. We'll need to see whichever applies before you ride, and we run a Thai licence service if you'd rather just have one.See our Thai licence service.
How much is the deposit, and when do I get it back?
฿10,000 on a brand new bike, and it is fully refundable. returned in full, by the same method you paid it, processed the same day you hand the bike back. Cash is same-day, in your hand. Bank transfers go out the same day too — how quickly they land is down to your bank. On a 6-month contract or longer you can instead take the damage waiver at ฿500 a month, which brings the deposit down to ฿3,000; the waiver is a fee and isn't refunded. On the 3-month contract the deposit is ฿10,000.
What can actually be deducted from my deposit?
Three things, and nothing else: accident damage charged against the schedule in your contract, unpaid traffic fines that reach us in your name, and distance over your allowance at ฿2 per km. Every deduction is itemised and photographed. We never take a passport as a deposit.
What does the damage cover actually cover?
The simplest way to put it: if it bolts on, we cover it. Drop the bike, slide it, scuff it — panels, mirror, levers, bar ends, mudguard, footpegs, lights and the seat are on us, up to ฿20,000 of parts and labour across your contract. What it does not cover is damage that has gone past the plastics: bent forks, a bent frame, a cracked engine or CVT casing, a buckled wheel — or the bike being written off or stolen. Tyres, wheels and punctures are the rider's on every rental we do. It is available on 6 and 12-month contracts, and it is not insurance — it's a cap on what a fall costs you.
What if I damage someone else's car?
That one is on you, and we would rather say so now than at the counter. The compulsory พ.ร.บ. covers injury to people; it does not cover damage to vehicles or property. If you hit another vehicle, the repair and any dispute are your responsibility — this is how every motorbike rental in Thailand works, and you will sign to confirm you understand it. If you want protection against that, arrange your own third-party cover before you ride and we can point you at a broker.
Who can take a long-term contract?
It is not open to everyone the way a daily rental is — we are handing over a brand new bike for months at a time. You will need a long-stay visa rather than a tourist entry or visa exemption, proof of income or savings such as a work permit, pay slips or a bank statement, a licence you can legally ride on — a Thai licence, an ASEAN member state's domestic licence, or your home licence plus an IDP — and a Bangkok address we can verify. Bring those to the shop and the rest takes minutes.
What documents do I need to bring?
Your passport, your current visa or entry stamp, your motorcycle licence (or IDP), and a Bangkok address. That is genuinely all — the bike stays in our name, so none of the registration paperwork lands on you.
How many kilometres do I get?
1,500 km a month, pooled across the whole contract rather than capped month by month — so a quiet month covers a busy one. On six months that's 9,000 km in total. Anything over it at the end is ฿2 per km. For normal commuting around Bangkok most riders never get near it.
Are helmets included?
Not on long-term. Our daily rentals include them, but people keeping a bike for months almost always want their own rather than a shared one. Helmets start at ฿499 and a fitted phone holder is ฿449 — and the phone holder is yours to keep when the rental ends.
Can I use it for Grab or food delivery?
No — not on the brand new bikes. Delivery work puts a different kind of mileage and wear on a bike, and it isn't covered by the contract. Our used long-term tier, launching soon from ฿4,900/month, is the better fit.
Is insurance included, and what does it actually cover?
Every rental includes the compulsory government "Por Ror Bor" insurance, which covers injury to people after an accident. It does not cover damage to the bike, and it does not cover damage to anyone else's vehicle or property — those remain the rider's responsibility, exactly as on our daily rentals, and you'll sign to confirm you understand that. Our optional damage cover at ฿500 a month protects the bike you're riding, not third parties.
What if I have to leave Thailand early?
You can end the contract early, and there's no minimum notice to serve — the 2 months' rental is charged in place of notice, so you can leave when you need to. The block you've already paid for isn't refunded — so the timing matters, and leaving just after a block has been billed is the expensive moment. Your deposit still comes back in full.
Is there really no registration to do?
None. The bike is registered to us, the green book is ours, and we renew the road tax and the compulsory insurance. We run a registration service for foreigners who do buy bikes, so we know exactly how much time that saves you.
Can I take the bike out of Bangkok?
The bike is for use within the Bangkok metropolitan area unless we agree otherwise. Planning a trip up-country? Just tell us beforehand and it is usually fine.
Can I buy the bike at the end?
Only on the 12-month contract, and it works by request rather than by a price fixed in advance. Towards the end of the term you can ask to buy it, and we agree a price then against the bike's real condition and mileage. Fixing a number twelve months ahead would only ever suit one of us. On the 3 and 6-month contracts the bike is not for sale, but you can always renew or swap onto a newer one.
How quickly can I get one?
These are ordered in, not pulled off a shelf, so the honest answer is: ask us. Send an enquiry and we'll tell you the next genuine availability date rather than guess at one.
