This policy explains how deposits, cancellations and refunds work for rentals booked with Bangkok Motorbike Co.. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions.

Deposits

A booking deposit — 20% of the rental, minimum ฿200 — is paid online to confirm your reservation. You may pay the full rental up front instead if you prefer; the booking deposit stays 20% either way, which is all that is ever at risk if you cancel. Any remaining balance is payable at collection by Thai QR (PromptPay), cash, or a Beam payment link we can send.
A separate refundable ฿3,000 damage/security deposit is taken at collection — by cash, card or PromptPay, your choice. It is returned in full when the bike is returned on time and in the same condition, less any charges for damage or outstanding fees as set out in the signed rental agreement.

Cancellations

Cancel 48+ hours before your collection time and everything you paid online is refunded in full.
Within 48 hours of collection, or a no-show, the 20% booking deposit is retained, together with the cost of any extras you ordered (helmets, balaclavas and the like) — these are set aside for you and can't be resold at short notice. If you paid the full rental up front, everything above that is refunded: paying early never costs you more than paying the deposit alone.
Once a rental has started, no refunds are given for early returns or unused days.
If we cannot provide your booked bike and can't offer a suitable alternative, your booking deposit is refunded in full — whatever the timing.

How & when refunds are made

Booking deposit: refunded to your original payment method via our payment provider (Beam Checkout). Please allow up to 14 business days for it to appear, depending on your bank.
฿3,000 damage deposit: if you paid it in cash, it's handed straight back in cash at drop-off, immediately after the bike is checked. If you paid by card or PromptPay, it's refunded to that same method — allow up to 14 business days.

Damage & deductions

Where damage occurs, charges are assessed according to the damage schedule in the signed rental agreement and deducted from the ฿3,000 damage deposit. Fair wear and tear is never charged. If damage exceeds the deposit, the balance is payable as set out in the agreement.
