Questions
How much does it cost to rent a scooter in Bangkok?
+
With us a 125–150cc automatic scooter is from ฿359 a day for 2 days or more, from ฿2,100 a week or from ฿5,000 a month. The bigger 155cc and 160cc scooters start at ฿450 a day. Across central Bangkok, shops ask roughly ฿350–600 a day for a 125–160cc scooter.
Can I rent a scooter in Bangkok as a tourist?
+
Yes. Bring your passport, a motorcycle licence valid in Thailand (your home motorcycle licence with an International Driving Permit that covers motorcycles is the usual one) and the deposit. You can collect the same day or book ahead online.
Do I need a licence to rent a scooter in Thailand?
+
Yes. Thai law needs a motorcycle licence even for a 125cc scooter, and a car licence is not enough. An International Driving Permit has to be issued in your own country before you travel. Without one you can be fined at a police checkpoint, and travel insurance may not pay if you are hurt.
What is the cheapest scooter rental?
+
Our cheapest is the Yamaha Fazzio 125: ฿359 a day for 2 days or more. Renting longer brings the daily cost down: a week works out at ฿300 a day and a month at ฿167 a day.
Is a moped the same as a scooter?
+
In Bangkok people say scooter, moped and motorbike for the same small bike. All of ours are automatic: twist and go, with no gears and no clutch.
Where can I rent a moped in Bangkok?
+
At our shop in Din Daeng, 5 minutes' walk from MRT Rama 9. Book online to keep a bike for your dates, or message us on WhatsApp or LINE before you come.
Do you keep my passport?
+
No. We photograph it at the counter and hand it straight back.
