How it works

Step 1 01

Book + pay the service fee

Pick what you need, pay our service fee to lock it in, and bring the bike + green book + ID to our Rama 9 shop — or have our rider collect it. A tax-only renewal usually needs no bike at all, just a photo of the book.

Step 2 02

We handle the DLT

Our team queues, files, pays the government fees and stamps every step at the Department of Land Transport — transfer, tax, insurance. No queueing, no language barrier, for you. We sign on your behalf with a power-of-attorney you fill in once.

Step 3 03

Collect + settle the gov fees

When it's done you collect the bike (or we return it for the delivery fee) and pay the government fees we fronted — at cost, itemised on your paperwork, no mark-up. New green book, fresh tax + พ.ร.บ. sticker if it was due, keys and documents in hand. Ride away.

What the DLT needs.

These are the DLT's requirements — but the tricky one for foreigners (the Certificate of Residence) we can obtain for you. Bring what you have, and we take over from there.

  • 1 The original green book — your bike's ownership record
  • 2 The bike owned outright: if a finance company is still named in the green book, that loan has to be cleared before anything can move
  • 3 Foreigner? Your passport, plus any visa that's more than a tourist stamp — Non-O, Non-B, DTV, retirement or marriage all work
  • 4 Foreigner? A Certificate of Residence dated within the last 30 days. It's the one document everyone forgets — so if you'd rather not queue at Immigration, we'll get it for you (฿1,500 + the government fee)
  • 5 The bike back in standard trim for the inspection — anything swapped out (pipe, lights, bars) returned to stock

Registration FAQ

What do the prices include — do I pay government fees on top?
The price on each card is our service fee only. Government fees at the Department of Land Transport (road tax, พ.ร.บ. insurance, the ownership/province transfer fee, and any late penalty) are separate — they're the government's charges, not ours. We pay them for you and you settle them at cost when you collect, itemised on your paperwork with no mark-up. The tables on this page are guide estimates; we confirm your exact government total before we start.
Why not just show one all-in price?
Because the government portion genuinely varies — by engine size, the bike's age, and whether the tax has lapsed (which adds a penalty). Rolling it into one number would mean padding it to cover the worst case. Keeping our fixed service fee separate from the DLT's actual charges is the honest way to do it, and it's usually cheaper for you.
When do I pay?
Our service fee is paid up front when you book or drop the bike off — that's what locks in the job. The government fees are paid when you collect: we've already fronted them at the DLT, and you settle them at cost against the itemised paperwork before we hand over the bike, keys and documents.
Can a foreigner own a motorbike in Thailand?
Yes — foreigners can register a bike in their own name. You need a passport, any long-stay visa (Non-O, Non-B, DTV, retirement or marriage — anything beyond a tourist visa), and a Certificate of Residence from Immigration dated within the last 30 days. Don't have the residence certificate? We can obtain it for you for ฿1,500 + the government fee.
Do I need a Thai driving licence to register a bike?
No. You don't need any licence to own or register a motorbike — a licence (Thai or International Driving Permit) is only needed to ride it legally on the road.
Do I need to be at the DLT?
No. We sign on your behalf using a power-of-attorney form you sign once at our shop, so you don't spend a day queuing in the Thai heat.
Can you transfer a bike that's still on finance?
Not until the finance is cleared. If a finance company is named as the owner in the green book, they legally own the bike and it can't be transferred until the loan is paid off. Always check the green book before buying a second-hand bike — this protects you from a common scam.
What if the seller has already left Thailand?
Still doable. The seller signs a power-of-attorney (with copies of their ID or passport — for foreigners it may need notarising at their embassy) authorising the transfer without them present. Note the seller stays legally responsible for the bike until the transfer is completed, so it's in everyone's interest to finish it.
What if my bike is modified?
The DLT inspector checks stock parts only. If anything's been changed (exhaust, lights, bars, visible suspension), we'll need to return it to stock for the inspection — we can help with that for a small fee.
What if my bike is registered outside Bangkok?
No problem — add "change province" to the transfer. We move the registration to Bangkok and put it in your name in one go, so you don't need a trip back to the original province. It's +฿500 on our fee, plus the province transfer government fee.
My road tax lapsed a while ago — is that a problem?
Usually not. If it's lapsed we renew it as part of the job; the government adds a late penalty (from about ฿200 once you're a couple of weeks over, rising the longer it's been). If the tax has been lapsed for more than three years the plate gets struck off and it needs a full re-registration — message us and we'll quote that case by case.
Do you collect and deliver the bike?
Yes — our rider can collect your bike and return it for ฿500 (round trip, within 10 km of Siam BTS). Or drop it to our Rama 9 shop or straight to the transport office yourself, free. A tax-only renewal usually needs no bike at all.
Do you also sell motorbikes?
Yes — we buy and sell second-hand bikes alongside the rental fleet and this registration service. Message us if you're after a specific model.
