Bangkok Motorbike Co. ("we") respects your privacy and handles personal data in accordance with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights.
Information we collect
- Booking details: your name, email, phone/LINE, chosen bike, rental dates and any delivery address.
- At collection: a photograph of your passport and driving licence, and your signature, to prepare and complete the rental agreement.
- Payment: payments are processed by our payment provider (Beam Checkout). We do not store your full card details on our servers.
- Technical: basic traffic analytics we run ourselves (pages viewed, country, and a one-way hashed visitor reference), plus our hosting/CDN provider (Cloudflare). We do not sell or share this, and we do not use third-party advertising networks to follow you around other websites.
Why we use it
- To process your booking and provide the rental (performance of our contract with you).
- To prepare the legal rental agreement and verify identity and licensing (legal obligation and legitimate interest in preventing fraud and theft).
- To take payment and manage deposits and refunds.
- To contact you about your booking and provide rider support.
Who we share it with
We share data only as needed to provide the service: our payment provider (Beam Checkout) to process payments, our email provider (Resend) to send booking and agreement emails, and government or law-enforcement authorities where legally required (for example, traffic offences or accidents). We do not sell your data.
When you complete a booking online we also send Google a one-way encrypted (hashed) form of your email address and phone number, so Google can confirm that an advertisement led to a genuine booking. Google cannot read the original values, we send nothing when you are only browsing the site, and this is used to measure our advertising — never to build a profile of you or to target you elsewhere.
How you found us
When you first arrive on our site we record how you got here — the search engine, the website that linked to you, or, if you clicked one of our advertisements, that click's reference number. It is kept in a cookie on your device for 90 days and attached to your booking if you make one, so we can tell which advertising is worth paying for. The cookie holds only that: a source word, the campaign or website that referred you, the page you landed on, a click reference and a date. It contains no name, email or anything about you personally, it is readable only by our own server, and it is never shared with anyone else. The click reference and landing page are deleted 30 days after your rental ends, or 30 days after the booking date if the rental never goes ahead.
Our site also loads Google's measurement tag, which Google uses to count advertisement responses. You can refuse all of this by blocking cookies in your browser; nothing on the site stops working if you do.
How we store and protect it
Booking and agreement records, including ID document images, are stored on access-controlled systems and used only for the purposes above. Signed agreements are retained for our legal and accounting records.
Retention
We keep booking, agreement and payment records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, tax and insurance requirements, after which they are securely deleted.
Your rights
Under the PDPA you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict its processing, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below.
